Egyptian cotton, also know as long staple cotton, is the highest quality because it produces the longest fibers. These long fibers are capable of being spun into a very dense thread that is extremely fine yet exhibits great durability. Both single and two ply yarns are utilized in a sumptuously smooth sateen weave; the fabric is then finished by mercerizing under tension which enhances the lustrous look and silky feel.
