Stress is Brutal… and How Adjustable Beds Can Help

Adjustable BedsLife is stressful; there is no way around that.  People try all kinds of strategies to attempt to reduce stress.  Activities such as meditation, yoga, and regular exercise have been shown to help with various forms of stress.  Unfortunately, for many of us, these can be challenging to participate in regularly.

Most of us know that stress is bad for us, but we don’t often think of the devastating effect that it is having on our bodies and lives.  One study stated that 90% of all visits to the doctor are for stress related symptoms.

While actively trying to reduce stress is a great idea, in reality it can be difficult and frustrating.  Fortunately, there is something everyone can do that will help you to relax in both the short and long term – Get a great night’s sleep.  The benefits of better quality sleep are incalculable.

Actually that’s not true, they HAVE been calculated and the results are startling.  Some of the benefits of sleeping better include:

• Lower rates of suicide and depression
• Lower rates of many diseases including heart disease, diabetes, and ulcers
• Increased productivity

And for the best and most relaxing sleep experience possible nothing comes close to an adjustable bed.  If you have never experienced what sleeping on a high quality adjustable bed does for your body, you owe it to yourself to find out.  The ability to put your body in the exact position that is most comfortable and supportive allows for the type of sleep that cannot be matched by any “regular” bed.

With so many aspects of stress being difficult to manage, it’s comforting that there is one thing we can all do to help us relax and feel better.  We just have to do it.

A simple solution for a complicated problem…   what’s better than that!

I do agree with you that sleep is absolutely invaluable. I notice I perform better, I am less irritable and I suffer from less stress when I get a good night's sleep. Sadly, however, I don't agree with a sleep number bed. I have never been one that can sleep in any way except flat, so that wouldn't work for me. I have been checking out the mattress reviews at http://wwww.qmattresses.com to hopefully find a bed that will help me sleep better because my mattress is done for! Thanks for the reminder of how important sleep is though. :)

Hi Steven,

Interesting article, I was really surprised by some of the problems poor sleep can have. Could be time to get rid of the futon and look for something more suitable.

DO you know much about these guys I've been contemplating - http://hllp.com.au ?

It always amazes me how little some people are prepared to spend on a mattress considering how much of your life is spent on one.

I agree with you completely about stress and how the right bed can be the perfect medicine for it. This doesn't get talked about enough. In addition to adjustable beds, another type of luxury mattress that I like is the pillow top mattress. It is very comfortable and very supportive and conducive to an amazing night's sleep.

I agree completely with Chris. Those with disposable income will spend great amounts on a new TV, the latest smart phone or any other gadget, but for some reason skimp on one product that can have an immense effect on one's well being. My two cents: Keep your iPhone 3 for another year and reward yourself with a new mattress, you'll stress levels will thank me :)
