How do I attach an air mattress to my adjustable bed base?

Here are directions for attaching an air mattress to your adjustable bed base. These directions will work for any air mattress and the adjustable beds at My Luxury Mattress. If your air mattress did not come with a Mattress Retainer System, that's ok. They are inexpensive and available in our store. Please call us with any questions you may have.

 Step by Step Directions

1. Complete the setup of your Adjustable Foundation.
2. Unzip the top panel from your air mattress cover. Set the panel aside.
3. Place the bottom of the air mattress cover on top of your Adjustable Foundation.
4. Insert the foam border walls and corner locks as indicated in the setup instructions of your air mattress.
5. After installing the foam border walls, make certain the foot of the air mattress cover is placed even with the end of the Adjustable Foundation, so that it is touching the Retainer Bar.
6. Make certain that the sides of the air mattress cover are placed so that they are even with the sides of the adjustable foundation, and do not hang over either side.
7. Use your fingers to identify the two spots where the fabric of your air mattress cover touches the receiving slots located on the Adjustable Foundation. (Each slot will be approximately 32 ½ “ from the top of the foundation, and 6” in from the side)
8. At each of these spots, use your utility knife to make a small perforation in the air mattress cover fabric. This perforation should be large enough to allow the bolts to pass through, but no larger.
9. Place the plastic washers over each perforation so that the perforation is visible through the center of the washer.
10. Insert one of the bolts through the washer and the air mattress cover, and screw it into place until snug. Repeat this process with the other bolt and washer. See the diagram on the back of this page.
11. Complete the setup of your air mattress by installing your base pad,  chambers, center wall and topper pad as per the setup instructions for your   mattress (the type of components included with your air mattress will vary depending on which model you have purchased)
12. After installing all remaining interior components, zip the top panel back onto your mattress cover. 
13. Your Adjustable Foundation and air mattress are now ready for use.
