Why is My Memory Foam Mattress Topper Flat as a Pancake? -Part 1
I talked with several customers on the phone this week that had the same problem in common with memory foam mattress toppers bought at other places. When they lay down on their current memory foam mattress topper, it compressed fully, too easily, allowing their hips and shoulders to bump uncomfortably on the mattress beneath the topper.
My customers all asked me the same question, but in different terms. One customer actually asked, “why does my memory foam mattress topper flatten out like a pancake when I lay on it?” Another customer said that, “it’s just too soft.” Several customers were kind of vague, saying something like, “it just doesn’t seem to be doing any good.”
We really talked about the details of their experience to find out what the problem was. None of the people had bought their toppers at the same place and none of them paid the same price. Some bought cheap toppers and some bought mid priced toppers. But in each case the problem we uncovered was a lack of support. All the toppers were very soft to the touch, but none of them offered enough support to apply an even pressure across the surface of their body.
A good memory foam topper should be both soft to the touch and offer proper support. Read Part 2 to find out how I helped these customers find a mattress topper that was right for them.
