More and more people are hearing about the wonderful health benefits and pressure relieving properties of memory foam. Also heard are the consistent reports of too much heat build up or waking up in a sweat. It's hot! This is usually caused by synthetic thread in the cover and or too high a density memory foam. (Memory foam, by its very nature, is heat-activated...it depends on your body heat to soften up and provide pressure relief.) When you sleep on the higher density foam, your body creates a deep impression in the foam, trapping heat. Higher density foam takes longer to spring back. When sleeping, your body gets stuck, so to speak, in one place for too long and you overheat. So what's the answer? CoolMax®!

How Does it Work?
First of all, CoolMax® is a fiber, not a treatment or spray-on additive, so the benefits will never wear out! Each fiber's unique 4-Channel shape makes it better than pure cotton at whisking away moisture and bringing the temperature down while you sleep. This means that your body doesn't have to work as hard to regulate it's own temperature, so you get more rest when you sleep. Most of the heat buildup in a mattress is due to moisture retention. CoolMax® keeps the moisture away, while still letting the memory foam respond to your natural body warmth.
And it's a 4-way stretch fabric, so you won't lose any of the memory foam feel underneath. You'll just get comfortable and cool rest night after night.
At 9" high, you can choose from either 1 inch of premium memory foam with 8 inches of support base foam for greater firmness or 3 inches of memory foam laminated to 6 inches of base foam for a more body- conforming effect. The cover can be completely unzipped allowing you to launder as needed.

We use only the safest new BASF Pluracel Vx ™ Memory Foam. This is the next generation of pressure relieving material that makes traditional memory foam obsolete. Vx is made in the USA using "Clean Foam" technology (with no BHT's and no harmful smells or carcinogenic chemicals) and provides a perfect blend of density, durability and comfort unsurpassed in the bedding industry today. The foam core (the supporting base foam that catches your body after the memory foam takes your shape) is made from a high resiliency material used specifically in modern mattress manufacturing.
The BASF material is made into foam by the Carpenter Company, the largest supplier of foam products in the world. Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, the company is a worldwide manufacturer of specialty foam products for home furnishings.

Typical memory foams have a very narrow temperature range in which they exhibit their design characteristics. This range is usually about 20 degrees Fahrenheit - typically from about 70 to 90 degrees. Using the Dual Peak Technology, BASF has dramatically increased this range. Vx memory foam will perform to spec from 40 to 100 degrees - more than adequate to meet your needs.
That means that when you get in the Bamboo Bed on a cold night, it won't be rock hard like other memory foam beds. It will still be soft and supple down to 40 degrees. Likewise, it won't be too soft and un-supportive during the summer. It has an quick recover rate (rebound) that allows you to roll over easily and feel well supported.
The Inner Cover:
The inner cover is one of the most overlooked components of any great memory foam mattress, yet it is one of the most critical. The Bamboo Bed's inner cover is a breathable cotton Jersey-knit fabric that prevents wear due to friction...the number one enemy of visco-elastic memory foam.
The Bamboo Bed is equipped with the most advanced open flame resistance technology and meets the strict California TB 603 standard. Other fire protection features include fireproof Kevlar thread in every seam in the cover and a fire-proof skirt along the inside of the cover border.
