Foam beds are more expensive to produce than innerspring mattresses. To create an “expensive look,” fabricators use a fancy looking material, usually polyester or a polyester blend, to grace the bed.The problem with many of the materials used to make foam mattress covers is that they don’t stretch. And if they don’t stretch, they prevent the foam from conforming naturally to your body. A non-stretch material dramatically reduces the pressure relieving qualities of foam.
To get the fullest benefit from your latex or memory foam mattress, be sure that it has a stretchable cover material.
